No matter how investigations of the Liar in Chief ultimately shake out, I can't stop smiling like Dorfman did when Delta Tau Chi's revenge exploded all over the parade.

Stephen Furst, who died last month, produced the most splendiferous grin at the chaotic climax of "Animal House."

Take that, Dean Trump.

Superb side effect: Jeff Sessions will be out of government, sooner rather than later. And he'll never get back into the U.S. Senate. And he's got nobody to blame but Lil Jeffie Sessions.

Twit is as twit does

National news: GOP committee member from Nevada re-tweets a story suggesting to John McCain that he should just die.

I alternate between liking and hating Twitter. Today, I like it.

It's a big directory of millions of people who are tone-deaf, brain-dead, and pitiful.

Hundreds of people tweet and re-tweet hateful words.

And those tweeters can't understand why other people are angry, hurt, or fearful. Why they are attacked with different words. Head in the sand, butt in the air. You'd think with all the blood falling to their brains, they'd think better. Or maybe just think.

Like Lily Tomlin says, no matter how cynical  you get, it's never enough.

We've now entered the season in Northern Nevada where you don't ask, "Any new wildfires?" when the local TV news starts.

So much to hate, so little time

I have been beaten into submission, mostly by my bank's website, which bitched about Firefox as my browser.

I now have Chrome. Not yet, however, will I submit to the Google Masters.

Safari is a spawn of the devil and Chrome surprised me by sharing much of what I hate about Safari.

First point of anger/confusion: Chrome won't sign me out of a newspaper website that I visit daily. Safari, Firefox yes; Chrome no.

I'm reluctant to give Chrome all the blame, because the website/newspaper is owned by a chain that cheaps everything out. Could be Gannett, could be Google. Has one bought the other yet?

At least, Ad Block Plus works on Chrome. I'm going to donate to them, soon. Honest.

Summertime and the living is Fire

Just like old times last night, with the electricity out because of a wildfire.

It took awhile for us to realize that cell phones still work, unlike cordless handsets. Then it took awhile to find a phone number for the power company before we could check outage messages.

NV Energy beat their restoration estimate by 2.5 hours.

However, Reddy Kilowatt's absence was boring.

No marshmallows to roast. No fire pit, either.
